The Mummy Tag!

Hi All

I haven't blogged for far too long! Life happened but hopefully I will be able to get back on track now! I decided I'd have a go at 'The Mummy Tag' that I've seen lots of people doing on YouTube. I tag any of you who would like to have a go-please link your blogs/vlogs below though so that I can have a little look!

So here goes.....

1. Are you a stay-at-home mum, or a working mum?

Currently I am kind of in between! I am doing some casual tutoring work, also seeking something part-time but in the meantime I am a SAHM and I am loving it. The extra time I am getting with my little one is fantastic, hard-work but I am loving it!

2. Would you have it any other way?

I would love to be a SAHM but unfortunately it isn't possible for me not to work financially. Like many people! I'll keep wishing for that lottery win!

3. Do you co-sleep?

Only with the hubby lol! We have never co-slept with our daughter. She has always been a pretty good sleeper, touch wood, and so have never needed to. I was anxious enough with her being in the moses basket and her own cot, let alone worrying that I'd roll on top of her. I know loads of people who love it though!

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?

I had to think about this for a while as we had so many essentials! In the end I decided on our nursing pillow that we had. It was a bit of an impulse buy because it had owls on, but it was used so much. I didn't end up breast feeding but used it to lean on when feeding, or when little one was sleeping and for just having baby leaning on it and looking up at us (or to get a sneaky piccie of her on her own when she couldn't sit up!) I will try and find a piccie of a similar product so that you know what I'm talking about.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?

We would really like 2 and have always thought that but if we discussed having more then I wouldn't necessarily say no. We will have to see what happens, we've only had one gorgeous girl so far! Who knows what the future may bring!

6. Date night? How many nights per month?

Date night? What's that?! My MIL looks after my daughter when I'm/was at work and so I don't like to ask for her to look after her other times as I don't want to seem like I'm taking the mick! When we do manage to go out on our own it is usually a 'day date' as I still don't want to leave my daughter at night yet. As for timescales, I'd love us to be able to do this every month but at the moment it is probably every 4-5 months we manage to get a day just solely us! We try to have movie nights and things at home to get some time together.

7. Your child's favourite show?

Peppa Pig at the moment!

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?

Probably a bath seat...I think we did use it once but it didn't go down well so it was put back in its box!

9. Your child’s favourite food?

Jacket potato and cheese at the minute!

10. How many cars does your family have?

We are lucky enough to have 2 cars-we did only have 1 for a number of years but when I went back to work after maternity leave we needed a second car as we were going in different directions and had to factor in dropping little one off at her Nanny's.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during, after and now?

Too much and I still need to get rid!

12. Dream holiday with your kids?

Disneyland Paris and Disney in Florida when she is older.

13. Dream holiday without your kids?

I'm not sure I have one! I want to share everything with my little one now and I think I'd miss her too much! We did talk about having our honeymoon in Italy and then our budget didn't quite stretch to that so we always said we'd do it for an anniversary one year.

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?

It has changed so much I'm not sure where to begin. I've got so much love for her and my priorities in life changed for the better, I'm no longer a workaholic! It is a lot harder emotionally, I worry all of the time! But it is so worth it and her little smile or a hug makes you forget all of that.

15. Finish the sentence: 'It makes my heart melt to see … '

My daughter playing with other children, holding hands with them and having a little conversation with them! It melts my heart to watch her growing up and become more and more independent.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?

I love the supermarket for clothes, especially George at Asda. I also love a good Primark splurge. But if I want something for a special occasion then I tend to go to Mothercare, Debenhams or Next. We are soon to get a H+M in town and I'm super excited, their kids clothes are great too, super quality!

17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?

I like Simple for my skin, I have eczema and have to be careful what I use. Make up wise....I only really got into make up after I had a baby, strange but true! So I'm currently experimenting with the more budget brands as we are on a tight budget at the mo! My favourite is Collection and I love Tanya Burr's products too. Foundation wise I do like the No7 range but am currently looking at other brands to try. My little sister is the expert in the family and my personal make-up consultant lol!

18. Huggies or Pampers?

We used Pampers when our daughter was newborn and they were great. However, when she needed to be in the bigger nappies they used to leak quite a lot. We then moved to Aldi and we've never gone back. We find they are brilliant and a great price! We are currently potty training and their training pants are great too!

19. Have you always wanted kids?

Yes, always knew I wanted to be a Mum and feel so blessed with our daughter.

20. Best part about being a mum?

Watching the daily changes in my little girl, I'm so proud of her. She is growing up far too quickly though...trying to cherish every moment!

Phew! That's it! Hope you enjoyed that and it helped you to get to know me a bit more! If you know of any other tags like this then please let me know. I really enjoyed answering these questions!

Remember to leave a link below if you have a go at this too and I will hopefully have another post for you again soon!
